I’m frustrated with technology in general, but especially with my Women’s Wisdom website. A few days ago, I added information on a book review on Women’s Wisdom: Pass It On! published in Emerald Coast Magazine. When I posted it, the letters were huge, probably size 24, when all I wanted was the normal 12. No matter what I tried, I couldn’t reduce the size. Anyone looking at it would assume I’m just a big braggart!
I gave up on that task, moving on to write my weekly blog. But whatever I had tried to do on the “news and events” page prevented me from creating a new blog. I kept getting some version of a “you screwed up” message.
“I’ll leave the site and turn off the computer,” I decided, thinking that would clear up the problem. No such luck! The evil message mocked me when I turned the computer back on. Arrgh!
I did write a blog, using old-fashioned paper and pencil, but would I ever be able to post it? I’ve spent a lot of money on people to help me over the years, but have been consistently abandoned. One young woman said she’d help, but after meeting with me once was unresponsive. She simply disappeared (though I recently saw on Facebook that she was married and in another state). Another was extremely helpful one time, too, but dropped me as soon as her husband returned from a deployment. I totally understand that; I just wish she’d talked to me so I didn’t waste two months waiting for her.
My frustration is as much with myself as anybody else. I know I’m not stupid, but I sure am ignorant. How do people learn this stuff? What classes do I need to take? As for now, I just want to yell, “Help! I’m frustrated with technology!”
